12 and 1 Workout
Friday, July 20, 2012 at 2:17PM Happy Friday! Guess what’s still not fixed? Our AC! Sadie and I are MELTING away every day after work. Last night it was cooler on the back deck than in the condo, so we hung out there for a good hour or two:
Apparently they’ve installed a bigger compressor than needed to cool our condo and it burnt out on day one. So they have to replace the whole compressor on Monday. One more weekend of ghetto AC:
DOUBLE FAN POWER!
To escape the heat, I took The Monster to my parents air conditioned house to hang out while I went to the gym. I knocked out 3 miles and a pretty ballin’ strength training routine.

Do 12 reps of each of the exercises listed followed by a 1 minute bosu plank. Do 2-3 rounds.
Workout explanations:
Bicep curl (12 each arm)
Calf raises (12 each leg)
Bosu plank tilt (12 each side)
I’ve never incorporated a bosu ball into my workouts before, but Gina’s Focus On postopened my eyes to it. I think the bosu and I will be great friends.

On tap for the weekend: cleaning out the spare bedroom for a renter (yay extra income!) and a 7 mile long run. The forecast for Sunday is 33 so I’m thinking I’ll need to wake up early to get the run in when it’s not boiling. I know, I’m waking up early VOLUNTARILY on the weekend. I’ve gone insane again.
What’s your favourite piece of fitness equipment?I’ve still got mad love for the foam roller and resistance bands, but this bosu ball might turn my world upside down.
Have a great weekend!
PS: Internet is getting fixed TONIGHT so expect longer posts next week! Writing decently sized posts over lunch hour is hard y’all.

I love the Bosu too; in fact, I teach a full hour class using it!
My 2nd favourite piece of equipment? The TRX! Great for packing and taking with you on holiday too!
P.S. Fellow Canadian blogger!
Ugh, hope you get your AC back soon! I love the bosu, do a lot of exercises on it. Can't live without my foam roller, either. Also love my stability ball. Good luck with the early wakeup although without AC you might not be sleeping anyway!
I've never seen a bosu class offered here! Sounds great though.
It was cool enough last night that I didn't want to die haha. Hopefully it keeps up!
