Easter Weekend Re-Cap, Starting LiveFit, and #PROOF

Hi friends! Happy Wednesday!

So I know I promised a video on Sunday, but then we got caught up in Easter stuff. BUT we made up for it on Monday with a short check-in video with Sadie!

FYI: I’m going to be doing more short videos like this because I think it’s fun to see the person behind the words. And you get to hear my sexy voice. I know you’ve all been dying to hear it. And Sadie will probably make the occasional appearance because I know what the people want – more puppies.

We had 3 Easter related meals this weekend. We went to Mike’s dad’s house for Easter dinner on Saturday night where we had lots of fun visting with Mike's niece and nephew:

Training her to be a judge. Or an actor for Law & Order (2 Broke Girls reference anyone?) 

On Sunday morning we headed to Mike's mom's house for Easter breakfast/brunch, then my parent’s for Easter dinner and board games on Sunday night.

Needless to say, my body was begging for clean eating on Monday.

Thankfully, we started LiveFit Trainer on Monday (as mentioned in the video which you all watched and loved riiiiggghhttt?). The food part of the trainer is all about clean, sustainable eating. And sooo many veggies! I hope my cubicle mates don’t mind my crunching all day long:

This kind of eating right after a weekend of indulgence is exactly what I needed to feel energized and ready to tackle weight training! I love that feeling clean eating gives you.

Yesterday, Mike and I did our first day of weight training at the gym. It was chest and triceps day and boy did I work. This morning, my chest and arms were like “Oh hey Erin, yeah this is what real weight training feels like”. I had to fight the urge to go for a quick warm-up run or do some cardio after the weights. This month straight up pure lifting with zero cardio is going to really test me.


If you follow me on Twitter, you may have seen me post pictures of my workout with the tag #PROOF. This is a super cool thing (in my opinion) that FitFluential started (original blog post here). You know when you see race photos and they had the watermark “PROOF” across it? Yes it has the meaning of being an unedited copy, but to a runner it can also mean proof of how hard you worked, trained, and sacrificed to get to that moment in the photo. All of us at FitFluential have taken this idea and been applying it to our lives. We’ve been tweeting pictures of our hard work, healthy meals, or just plain kicking ass at daily living with the hashtag #PROOF. Haha that's the plan! I listened to my running playlist on the way to work this morning. Big mistake. I want to run more than ever now!
